My story is pretty much the same as everyone else's here. I got an email after applying to an Accounting Specialist postion posted on Craigslist. The email was from an individual named Ona who informed me that she had received my resume in regards to the Accounting Specialist position, I was an awesome candidate, my job experience was a huge plus, yada yada yada. It directed me to another website that wanted me to sign up for a trial subscription for credit monitoring on a site called creditreport.com to get a credit report on myself to bring to the interview because every employee at this particular company was issued a company credit card. This site asks for a debit/credit card number, but claims that your card will not be charged, it is just to verify that you are a real person and not a computer. I've heard of this type of verification before with other things, so I put my debit card info in. Luckily it didn't accept my number for some reason, but rest assured, I'll be contacting my bank regarding this matter and will probably be issued a new card and this one will be cancelled.
