Just received a quote... Unbelievable

We moved from Bellingham, WA to Buckeye, AZ last October with a 26ft Penske truck and a car carrier for roughly $3600 including loading and unload by hired movers, gas (diesel), lodging 2 nights, blankets, shrinkwrap etc. I heard about PODS from a friend and thought this might be a cheaper alternative. Needless to say I stopped the gentleman after he told me 2 16ft containers would cost $1040.89 at drop off then another $6,955 when they arrived in Everett, WA. I stopped him there and he said that it covered the return of the PODS to AZ. WHY WOULD YOU PAY TO RETURN THEM WHEN THEY CAN BE RENTED FROM EVERETT??? He also insisted that gas prices can be in the $5 range in CA??? What? It isn't $15 dollars per gallon. Ridiculous. Going with Penske. The quote we got from them going from AZ to WA surprisingly was much cheaper than WA to AZ. Perhaps, it is a slow time of year? I'm not sure but a 26ft truck that runs on diesel with a car carrier and a AAA discount for less than $1000 including all the insurance adding say $2000 for gas and nice hotels we are still at less than half AND we have to make the drive with our vehicle anyway. Peace of mind that our belongings are with US the entire time *
