I received a text from this company telling me I had won a $1000 gift card from Walmart... With a link to follow. I did not open the link. Knowing it was unlikely, I googled them to find it was a scam, of course.

I do not know for sure how they got my cell phone number. Although a Walmart pharmacy does have my phone number for notification of prescriptions when ready. Perhaps they have hacked Walmart's phone data base in the pharmacy.

I've give my phone number to any Walmart for any other reason. I would hope Walmart will proactively send messages to all of their pharmacy customers to notify them of this scam. Many people may not recognize this as a hoax and they should be told.
