Replied to Craig's List ad in Minneapolis, MN for a receptionist position.
Got the first on line screening email.
Filled it out including running my own FREE credit report.
I thought, I'm not supplying the company with this information, I've run my own credit checks in the past, how can this be harmful?

Got a second email saying they wanted me to RUN IT AGAIN and set up a time for an interview as the HR head was going on vacation in the next week.
When I clicked on the links provided they did not work and when I tried to reply to the emails sent I got "fail notices" - My reply's did not go through.

Today there is a charge on my credit card that I used for the "free" credit report from creditreport.com, I was automatically signed up for their 'membership' which comes with a monthly charge.

I'm not sure who I'm more upset with. Brewer Careers and Partners, Credit Report.com or myself for being so desperate for work that I went against my gut feeling that this was a scam!

If you've been charged, call them and fight it! Or at the very least call them and make sure your "membership" with them is cancelled or they'll keep charging your card. Creditreport.com is the same as experian 1-877-297-7790.
The lady on the phone said they were experiencing a lot of issues with Brewer which makes me wonder who is this scam from? What is Brewer getting out of this when those of us who've been charged have been charged by Experian? My next call is to the Attorney General of my state and I suggest that you all do the same!
