Received harassing phone calls

Received harrasing phone calls from Public Yellow pages.com. This was advertised as a free advertising site. They now say that we owe 599.00. For What? This was a FREE service. We have tried to CANCELL everything related to them.; but the person calling, either Pakistanian or from India) insists we NEED a Cancellation #. He then connects me to the Cancellation Dept. Who refuses to give us a cancellation # without an invoice charging $599.00. They would like my voice on tape agreeing to receive this invoice for services rendered. I explain this was free and there should not be a charge. They (Public Yellow Pages) continue with I Need a cancellation # to cancel or else I will continue to be charged. I live in Florida. Please respond if this sounds like a scam. Your feedback is important.
