Don't Deliver What They Promise

On the first day I registered, I received two referrals, both of whom I would refer to as "fringe" people. Since I was in a time crunch, I chose the better of the two, and realized the next morning I had to make other arrangements. Roommate Finders promised to keep offering referrals until I was satisfied, so I asked if I could be given more. Weeks went by, and nothing, then I was paired with someone else referred by Roommate Finders who also wasn't receiving referrals, to find an apartment together. I thought this was an alternative option, however, after weeks more of no referrals I found out upon calling back that my being paired with someone else to look for an apartment was considered a placement. I argued with Suzy that I was never told that my accepting this option would remove me from getting additional referrals to people with apartments looking for roommates. I received a call out of the blue, a month later, and two months after my only two referrals, from Suzy who apparently didn't realize who she was calling, told me I was inactive, even though in the conversation we had a month prior she told me she'd "unpair" me from the apartment hunter and continue to seek a roommate with an apartment.

Bottom line: I can only refer to this as a scam, two referrals on the first day of fringe people (the person I moved in with was mentally unbalanced), and no additional referrals in two months. I consider my $85 taken via scam, and I would encourage people to understand that they are undertaking a risk by getting involved with this company.
