A young man came to the door, telling me about how he is trying to raise money using magazine subscriptions to better himself and that there was a contest for him to win a trip abroad. Against my better judgment I decided to subscribe to a couple of magazines to help him out. I now believe it was a complete scam. The first time I called the company, they had my order and said it would arrive in January. It's now March and no magazines. I've tried calling multiple times since then and I don't get a response. The phone line says they have normal business hours of 9 to 5 but they're never there! I always end up choosing to speak to a representative and no one is ever at that extension, I just hear a long fax beep. This kind of behavior saddens me as I try to be an honest individual and expect the same in return. I've learned my lesson.
