My Mother received a letter and wanted me to take a look at it because it sounded like a scam. Same as the previous report, the letter stated that she won 150,000 and it also had a check for 3,980 dollars that appeared to be a ligit check from Avanti USA Ltd and the letter came from Oxford Financial. My mother called up the same number as the previous complaint at 289-832-2418 and was told that she won a sweepstakes that happens once a year for shopping at either Jewel, Walmart, or Walgreens. The 2 names on the letter stating they were the promotional managers Charles Bay or Brian McFarland. The person on the phone told her that she would need to go deposit the check and call her once that was done. I looked up both businesses and Avanti in Tonawanda, NY was either a leather company or medical supply place. I'm glad that i was able to find them on this site to help prevent others from being taken advantage of.
