Miscellaneous

Jamaican male approx. 20yo in dress clothes and tie approached my door selling books/magazines for college tuition credit to UGA. I bought a Bible Stories book for my kids and paid $50 cash and received receipt and he said i would receive the book in 1-2 weeks. Here I am with a 'Balance Due" notice in the amount of $61.90 for the book I was told only cost $50. Not once did the salesman (scam artist) mention I was going to be billed for an extra $60 and I certainly wouldn't agree to paying $112 for a children's book! I knew something was up because when I asked him about GA free tuition for GA residents he knew nothing about it, but I was giving him the benefit of the doubt. Stupid me! It's a shame because it's scammers like this that cause the world to lose trust and faith in people whose intentions and genuine. Never again will I give any "door to door" salesman 10 seconds of my time and money even if they have the product in hand. Next time I'll just make sure my pistol isu in clear view and politely tell them to go away. I'm also going to post on Clark Howard so this incident reaches millions of more people.
