Big O Tires
No Alignment Check

My wife purchased all new tires for our suburban at the Big O Tires in Kaysville, Utah location #44113. Six months later we feel a noise getting louder coming from the underneath carriage near the wheels. We had a local mechanic shop check out our vehicle. He called asking who aligned the Vehicle and then stated that the noise was coming from a loose part that is used in the alignment process. I then went personally to Big O Tires and asked them if they align the vehicle when installing news tires. One of the service men at the counter replied " not Always." I then asked him to look up on our records to see if this was done at the time of installation of new tires. The answer was NO. I told him my problem, and that our suburban was currently at a mechanic shop and the conversation I had with that mechanic. The servicemen said that our vehicle was notorious for bolts coming loose. I then went to pick up my vehicle at the mechanic shop and drive it to Big O at the above location in hopes that the recent purchased all new tires would merit some help.

We were told by the manager (Patrick) after we had taken the suburban back to Big O that " some one was down there loosening it!" This same Patrick by the way had been listening to the conversation I had with the servicemen just prior to picking up our vehicle. Can you imagine that! Installing over a $1,000.00 on a vehicle, not checking the alignment, nor the undercarriage to see if anything was loose. Well I did my research. I called other Big O's and they said it was standard procedure to check and make sure the vehicle is ok before the installation of new tires. I also looked up on the internet a website dedicated to tires and the logistics. It does say that Checking of alignment and new parts should be done on ALL vehicles. Needless to say we paid the full price for an alignment, and our one new tire shows much wear. The employed persons mentioned above were very indignant with us. We have supported Big O for over ten year, but will no longer be a customer.
