Suspicion of Fraud

I joined up with Cupid.com four months back. And so far I have had 200 hits, of winks, emails and flirts, and I was wondering. Well made me want to join immediately and pay the 40 dollars. But my suspicion grew strong when so many women in the DFW area wanted to or had interest in meeting me. I also am part of a FREE dating site, which of course there are no charges or fees. You can email members freely and go on a date. So I started wondering, If I seldom get a hit on these free dating sites like 1 or 2 every week, then how can I get 200 hits of emails and interest to meet on this one site. Are the emails fraudulent? Any experiences with anyone actually dating someone from this site?
