Moving with PODs was easiest ever! - pods 8x8x16

Having moved many times over the years, as a kid with my family as well as an adult... Even trans-Atlantic moves with the DOD, this recent household move from New England to coastal Carolina using PODs for the first time was the best ever. Customer service specialists on the phone and over the internet were excellent, making the process easy to understand, and helping me utilize the flexibility and independent control I had every step of the way. It was great being able to have one POD delivered to a storage unit where I could load up our stuff and get it on the road, then on a subsequent day have the second POD delivered to our house for the remaining household things that had been left there for "staging" while the house was on the market. I had plenty of time to load the POD at my leisure, (I used 4 of the 30 days available) with the help of friends and neighbors, and ended up not having to hire any help for that part of the move. On the other end I had ample time to unload thoughtfully at a relaxed pace over a matter of days. Deliveries and pick ups of the PODs were on time and included phone calls from the drivers to let me know they were on the way. The drivers were polite, friendly, careful and very accurate in placing the PODs exactly were I wanted them. These guys are very professional, and very skilled. They were in and out in less the 15 minutes. Amazing.

My only recommendation to the company (drivers told me this was already in the process of being addressed) was to add more tie down points inside the PODs for securing the contents. I had plenty of ropes and straps, but also having plenty of carabiners and slings (from my rock climbing days) helped me overcome, for the most part, the handicap of too few tie down locations. Happily I can report that there was no damage to any of our belongings when we unloaded our PODs at the final destination. Awesome.
