We were stopped outside stor and a man took photo of us. It looked good so we went into shop and bought camera for 9.99 Euros. We were then told it would cost a furher 99 Euros to function properly. We spent this amount, were seated and given coffee and wine. We were then further told the camera just purchased was no good. Shown a better camera around 550 Euros with far better specification we were drawn into buying that. After his purchase we were told you needed a special HD Disc card for it to give the perfect result. The cost of these were abnormal (each costing 500/600 Euros). Also cost of larger long life battery was about 50 Euros.
If these were purchased we would receive a free DVD Player, a free stick to burn future photos, and a free long life battery. Total spent 2,300 Euros.
Tried out camera in apartment and found colours extremely poor indeed—were extremely dis appointed. Returned to shop the next morning and asked for money back. This was refused point blank and threatenened with a solicitor. After discussion they suggested an alternative camera that they said was of a better quality. We reluctantly agreed under pressure on the understanding we would still have the free items mentioned above.
On return to England we discover that the camera (a Samsung WB 700) is being sold for £199, with no mention of this special HD Disc card. The original account was taken back by the shop
