We bought a Ford F350 super cab in september.in april the engine blew due to a foreign object (engine bolt) at 36,943 miles. There were no bolts missing so that means someone from the factory dropped an extra bolt in when it was being built. We have been told that the engine was built by International Trucks of which is also the parent company od novastar. It is a fact that the only way to get to the cylanders where the problem occured is to raise the entire body off of the truck including the bed of truck. Obviously it must have come from the factory it was built at as at 36 miles the only thing it had been taken in for was regular service of the vehicle. Ford sent their own inspector out to check on damages and said it was not covered under warranty and that Ford was not responsible. If it was built by another company than Ford why were we not told this. We have been since been told that in order to be reimbursed we have to go through the BBB and that can take up to 60 days. Ford is standing by the inspectors decision and will not pay. The inspector told the tech he didn't see how the bolt got in there any other way except by taking the cab off the truck.
