On January 15 I went to pay my auto insurance on line, I've done so many times and had no problem. When I finished paying I noticed there wasn't a message confirming payment so thinking it hadn't gone through I did it again. Later that evening when checking the balance on my prepaid debit card I discovered that the first transaction had indeed been recorded so I had an over payment of $42.00. I phoned Access (they kept me on hold for 36 minutes) and explained what had happened and could they credit my debit card the $42.00. The woman told me that the credit card issuer would have to do that. I called Western Union and told them my problem and they said that the company to whom I paid would have to credit my card. This went back and forth until Access finally said that if I faxed them the information they would return my money. I faxed them January 21 with what they had requested. On January 23 I called to check the status and was informed that they had not received the fax (Inappropriate Content Removed) so I went back to Postal Annex and faxed a copy of the original letter along with another stating that as of February 22 I was cancelling their insurance. It's shitty insurance anyway, I just got it because it was convenient at the time.
I called the following day to see if they got the second fax. They had and told me that the company was going to send me a check. Four days had passed and nothing was forthcoming so I called again and was told that my "dispute"was still being investigated. I said "Investigated?"It was a simple mistake what is there to investigate?"She offered the usual double talk and I asked to speak with a supervisor, there weren't any available naturally.
So now I'm going to go the route I did when I had a similar problem with Walmart that is to contact every government agency, every consumer protection group, the C.E. O of Access and any body else who will listen.
Anyway I'm glad I finally cancelled Access they are one of the lowest rated insurance companies around.
I'll get my money back believe you me, I just thought I'd warn all potential customers of Access Insurance;Don't do it! For God's sake don't do it!
