Advanced Cash Network Extremely Offensive Scam Caller Resorts to Threats and Harassment! Phone

Scam started off like this: My home phone rang with a called ID of Private Number (Thick middle eastern accent) Hello, is Angela there, social security number xxx-xx-xxxx? As I had just had my purse stolen 3 days before this happened, I happily said I was Angela thinking a good samaritan had located my purse. Then this guy launched into a long explanation that he had before him an affadavit with my full name and social security number on it explaining that I was to be arrested if I did not immediately pay $113 out of my bank acount number XXXXXXX to finish paying on a payday loan I allegedly took out in November!!

I was stunned as my elation turned to confusion... I had no idea what a payday loan was since I have NEVER in my life taken a payday advance loan from anyone. Additionally, I wasn't working for a 6 month period (writer/author) so I wouldn't have a paycheck to use as collateral. I asked for specific information regarding this alleged transaction and he went on to say I had started making payments on this loan but never finished and I had to do it right then! Again I asked for more information and he started to threaten me with public arrest (home and work) and defamation of character. I calmly asked for his supervisors number and stated that he was ridiculously rude and mistaken. He gave me a reference number and a call back number for a "Mr. Roff".

When I called back, the SAME guy answered and said he was Mr. Roff, I laughed and said, omg this is a scam. Please stop calling me. The guy called me back 14 times in the next 5 minutes. I answered one call and told him I was reporting him to my local law enforcement as he was trying to illicit money from me illegally. He only called once more after that. 2 weeks later (to the day, 1-23-11) he called back and harassed my fiancee, calling 20 times in a 45 min time period. He left a somewhat normal message stating that I was in big trouble and he was an Law Officer calling from an unamed law firm and threatening if I tried to"run away" or "ignore this matter", I would be "arrested in the courthouse, or you may be arrested, I do not know!".

After receiving several phone calls my fiancee answered the phone and asked the man calling to stop calling. The guy then called back and yelled obsenities into my voicemail calling me a bloody bastard (even though I wasn't the person who had spoken to him) and threatening me with death and horrible pain and was continually laughing and laughing. While typing this today 1-24-11, he JUST called ne again saying it was a confirmation call and asking me to hold to talk to his Senior Officer. At first he ignorned my questions of exactly WHAT company he was representing, then he stuttered out Cash Advance, at that point I informed him I was recording the conversation and that I knew this was a scam, had retained the voice mails he had left on my phone line, and reported the harassment to the authorities etc.

He replied that he had contacted my employer and gave me the name of my employer and the name of my bank. He also said he was going to continually call me as that was his job. I told him I did not care and wanted him to stop calling and harassing me. At that point I hung up the phone. He called back one time so far but did not leave a message. Apparently he learned not to leave incrimination voicemails. Lol Unbelievable. How this company ever got my name, I will never know but I am damn sure going to follow up on it! Harass me? I don't think so.
