My daughter applied for a loan through Quikquid online on 21st December. Today she has received a letter from the bank saying that she has gone overdrawn and is going to be charged a fee. This is due to two payments of £67.70 being taken from her account by Your Money TV. She contacted Barclays bank who told her to contact the company as she had not heard of them before and had definitely not provided them with her bank card details. The company said they are linked to numerous loan companies and if anyone applies to any of these companies, your money charge people for looking for the loan for them. We spoke to Barclays again who told us they have received over 50 complaints from customers in the last few weeks about this company. Because they have her card details they may even try to take further payments! Apparently because they have all of her details they cannot stop the payment and because she can only claim a fraudulent payment within 14 days they cannot reclaim for her. Apparently this company deliberately wait for 14 days after someone applies for a loan before taking the payment which is outside of the legally required cooling off period! There is something that can be done though. My daughter has been told to contact Consumer Rights as this company cannot be allowed to get away with it. They are scamming money from people, they have cleverly targeted people desperate for money and are going to these loan companies as these customers often do not have the means to fight these companies. It should not be allowed and Barclays are out of order for not stopping payments to this company.
