I purchased a one time name/address lookup on Peoplesmart.com for $0.95. They billed me that amount but in the email they they sent to confirm that purchase they claimed they had a provision that they would charge $39.95 per year for a membership that would automatically renew if not cancelled in 7 days from the date of order placement. They never sent an email to confirm they had charged my credit card account the $39.95 so you don't find out until the bill shows up in the mail. When I called them 7 days after the amount was posted on the credit card they said THEY WOULD NOT REFUND THE MONEY. Moreover, I would be charged another $39.95 a year from now if I didn't tell them I didn't want to automatically renew. Buyer beware for peoplesmart. This is clearly a RIPOFF which needs to stopped.
