Miscellaneous

I failed to notice immediately that I was being charged by Bargain Link and Vacation Savers since April for $19.95 each monthly. I phoned them and was told that I signed on for a 14-day free trial when I went into their website, the notification appearing in a pop-up. I was told that my membership and the $19.95 fees were confirmed via an email sent to me. Since I don't open emails from unknown sources for fear of viruses I never really knew about this. I think it is criminal for companies to be allowed to defraud people by being allowed to assume their acceptance of certain terms simply because they failed to answer an email. I think people should have to actively accept or apply for membership before being held liable for things done in a sleazy way.
