I just saw a strange charge for $9.99 on a credit card I never use anymore, started checking all my bills online and found that I have monthly $9.99 charges going back to March - so 10 months of charges. Apparently, when I ordered some flowers in March, the simple act of ordering and using what I thought was a one-time discount signed me up for the Blooms "Rewards" program, and I've been getting charged ever since. I just called to cancel and complain, and the "customer service" representative told me that as an attorney, I should have read the fine print! I told her that I've found hundreds of complaints about their scam on the internet and she replied that she's smart enough to not believe what she reads on the internet. She offered to refund 4 (!) months of the charge and has promised that a supervisor, Catherine Jenkins, will call me back within 24 hours. I'm calling my credit card company now to report this fraud.
