I moved from Europe to the USA this year and thought it best to find a home in advance so I wouldnt be homeless with a 17 year old cat. I was to attend Delgado in New Orleans and arranged for the education and everything in advance. I contacted Metro Wide Apartments before coming to New Orleans and agreed to pay for an apartment they offered me in advance after receiving nice photos of a beautiful apartment in a beautiful area.

When I got to their office in New Orleans I was told it would be "too inconvient" to view the property before signing the lease and that this was commen practice in Louisiana. Needless to say, they brought me to this horrible, shabby dump in a ghetto where the door was broken with no lock and the whole place was so decrepid and run down that it was not fit for habitation. Never mind the degenerate drug addicts crawling about outside who would have no doubt killed me if I had stayed. I told them that it was not the property they described, it was fraud and that I wanted the money back. I never moved in, I just turned around got on a plane and left.
Since then after going through two courts Ive been told that what they did was illegal, it was a pathetic fraud but since I do not live in the United States I cant get justice.in the meantime, they continue to rip people off with this sort of real estate fraud and despite complaints to the mayor and governor of New Orleans, LA no one can do much to stop them. Dont give them any money.
