Deceptive Advertising — 3.99 turned became really $153.99, refuse to refund

Miscellaneous

I clicked on an advertisement while on a popular website — for $3.99 I would be shipped some face cream to try.

Later when returning from a trip I found that I was sent another bottle with a bill for ~$75.
I just called and found out that not only was it too late to return the 2nd bottle that they sent but they had also charged me and extra $75 for the first bottle because some fine print somewhere said I had 18 days to do something before they charged me $75. Never saw it — don't know where it was stated! Out of ~$154 for nothing.

I thought I was good at seeing scams. But this one really nailed me.
I was told, (by a good customer service representative — 3rd Party), that all the rules were very clear on the website — my credit card was charged and there was nothing I could do about it — don't bother to return the unopened product because they do not take returns.

A reputable company would have made it clear what you were getting into and have money back gaurantees.

I did not know that I would ever have to pay more than $3.99 for the face cream — which I had decided not to use again after the second application. Now I have 2 bottles for over $150!!!
