Miscellaneous

Ordered a program online called Speedmaxpc for C$54.97 to speedup my pc laptop. I was charged $57.72. The extra was for GST. I also found out that I somehow signed up for an automatic renewal for the same amount each year when it expires that I also did not see or know about. I have purchased other programs like this before and they never signed me up for automatic renewal.
I found a customer service email address from Safecart so I sent them an email to cancel the auto renewal charge.
I found the whole purchase with auto renewal to be deceptive.
I am very disappointed in myself not to have checked the internet first (which I usually do) and I think there is some hanky-panky going on with this outfit judging by postings.
Don't know (yet) if their software delivers the promised goods, but this reminds me of the snake oil salesman technique of years gone by! Or have they now?
I think I've been had and want tomake sure someone else is forewarned about this outfit.
