Someone befriended me thru facebook claiming to be James Phillip Wood. He said he was a captain in the Special Forces. He was looking for a serious relationship. He claimed he was stationed in Kabul, Afganastan and their mission wouldn't end until 2014. After a few weeks of emailing and chatting he was going to get a leave to come to the states. He stated he had to pay for his replacement, which would be coming from Turkey. The cost was $1630. He said he didn't have access to his bank account but would pay me back when he got to me. I made an excuse as to why I couldn't pay it.
About 2 weeks went by and he told me that for the relationship to progress we need to invest in a "secure line". It was a way we could talk so the Taliban couldn't trace his calls. He said if we could talk then I could talk with his commander and maybe get him another leave granted, that's because I screwed his first one up. The cost of it was $950. He was very persistent and wanted me to send the money because their connection to the internet would soon be lost. Thats when I decided to let him know I wasn't going to send a scammer money.
