I worked for this person in 2011 for about a month. He was (is) a terrible manager and attorney. He frequently belittles and insults his own employees, often making them "examples" in front of others. HE cannot interact with employees normally but rather interrogates them through leading questions as if they were adverse witnesses. He uses these questions to pigeon-hole them or to force you to make admissions of fault.
The turnover rate was every 6 months OR LESS. One 8th year attorney worked for him for 3 days, another attorney for 1 week and another for 1 month. This all occurred immediately before I began working for him. He once screamed that in his 20 years of practice, he has hired over 200 persons.
He frequently relies on law clerks/recent admittees or lawyers outside the community b/c they are NOT familiar with his reputation. He is known as a "scumbag" attorney and is NOT WELL RESPECTED. His main source of advertising is in his radio/tv appearances so he is "well known."
If an attorney's ideas contradicts his own, he would puff ups his 20 years of experience and challenge them to produce case law/statutes supporting their arguments. However, the office DOES NOT HAVE ACCESS TO westlaw or lexis. The Rutgers Guides he uses are outdated. He "outsources" his legal research to law clerks, who still have westlaw or lexis accounts. He does not bother reviewing briefs/motions/discovery matters in detail before signing off on them.
He is currently being sued for malpractice by at least ONE FORMER CLIENT. While working there, he was also TERMINATED by another client.
He frequently argues loudly with clients and opposing counsel over the phone. Even with the door close, the other officer persons can hear it.
On some days, after attending a Court hearing or deposition, he spends the rest of the day golfing rather than managing the office.
