Miscellaneous

I responded to a trial offer advertised on the internet. I was to pay $4.95 for shipping the product. This was on October 31 and the $4.95 appeared on my November credit card bill, which was fine. Yesterday (December 6th) the product arrived. Then today I noticed that on my December credit card statement, there was a charge for $98.95 from Nue Science.
I called to investigate this and the customer service rep said that it is a 16-day trial offer and if one doesn't let them know within the 16 days that you want to cancel, then you will be charged the full amount ($98.95). I said that I only received the package yesterday which was a lot longer than 16 days, and she said that it is because I live in Canada that it took so long, and that I should have let them know within the 16 days that I hadn't received it yet.
I have tried to look at this ad again to see if there is any fine print that gives this information, but when I click on the ad, it says that the page cannot be found. I do have my original order and it says only
Nue Science: Cell Revival Trial (CA) Order Total:$4.95.

This may not be a scam but it is certainly false advertising.
