Unauthorized debit card charges internet

I was looking at my bank statement and saw that there was a charge for 1.00 to amazon.com. On my statement it shows up as AMZN.com/BILLWAUS. I found this unusual because I have not made a purchase from Amazon in 3 months.

I immediately did a google search and found this site along with many others saying how this is a scam and this person is taking small charges from people or using this small charge to see if it is declined or not and if it is authorized the individual starts taking money from your account.

I am contacting the bank and having them cancel the card asap. I am concerned if this individual has my card number then he could possibly have my bank account number as well.

It is a shame that there is numerous complaints about this happening but yet no one has been caught yet.
