Semper LLC
Printworkers Blocked me from getting hired by my host company before the holidays

Miscellaneous

First off, I have been in the employ of this temp agency for the past 713 days, just shy of two years. Let me share some not-so-common knowledge to any of you who have not worked with this company or thinking about pursuing a position with them. Within the first year you work for them you will not receive any holiday pay. Once youve reached ample time to receive holiday pay, it is a flat rate that does not cover eight hours. Also, if the host company wants to convert you over to a full-time employee within the first year, there is a buy-out clause, and the host company must pay a fee of around $5,000.

With that said, here is my major complaint:

The host company finally decided to convert me over to a full-time employee last week, just in time for the upcoming Thanksgiving holidays, and my full-time status was supposed to start the beginning of this week. This would allow me to receive full holiday pay, and a little added bonus since I will be filling in for a couple of hours each day and would essentially be getting time-and-a-half pay for said time. I have now found out that Semper is haggling with my host company and they will not be able to convert me until the issue is resolved, most likely next week. To my knowledge, they have no basis for blocking my release since the initial buy-out period has long since expired.

I am outraged that after almost two years of service with the Semper, they would do something like this. It is rude and unprofessional. Apparently, they dont realize that I will spend every waking hour on the internet blogging about them and that most of my friends are in the same industry.
