I believe there has been a breach that affects the collective interests of consumers.

A company by the name of "Direct Junction Limited" (using the name "Career Jobs UK") is selling a third party service over the phone to people looking for work.
The Customer Protection Distance Selling Regulations 2000 requires such companies to give consumers clear information including details of the goods or services offered, delivery arrangements and payment, the supplier's details and the consumer's cancellation right before they buy.
"Career Jobs UK" did not adhere to the rules set out in the regulations:

* They did not give ANY information about cancellation right before the purchase, only after the fact. They wanted the credit card details first, I had to ask about those conditions myself.
* They did not mention the company name, only "Career Jobs UK".
* They say there is a money back guarantee, but have numerous conditions that make it completely their decision to refuse a refund.

There are further signs which point in the direction that this is a scam:

* From their E-mail: "We will organise every aspect of your training and heavily subsidise funding as well as helping you to secure a career that suits you." - they do not fund anything, they're selling a service.
* From the phone conversation: "I have talked to the manager who was listening in and he's very happy with the conversation. You have been accepted to join the programme." - I have no proof that this did not happen, but it is fairly obvious.
* Their website's address and name very much resembles "careersandjobsuk.com", a legit job search website.
* The services sold are not actually theirs. They resell a service by Mindleaders.com, a company in the United States.

After doing a Google search on the company, I have found the following discussions, indicating that I wasn't the only one scammed. Please see the sites below:
