Charging for Services we did NOT Request

I received a notice that we had not paid a bill for our listing in Yellow Pages Local Directory. It stated we were deliquent on the bill even though this was the first time we had received it. It stated that an employee of ours "Wendy Malone" had verbally okayed the contract to be listed. We do not have an employee named "Wendy Malone."

When speaking to Michael on 10/31 we listened to the recording together and the empoyee never stated there name and answered "YES" to questions. I know none of my employees would ever say "YES" to. Michael told me that the recording was not legally binding due to the fact that the name was not stated and that he would contact me the next day to let me know the charges had been voided. When I called back the next day I spoke with Jake who said Michael had been fired for giving me false information, but that we still owed the money even though the owner of the company did not authorize it. They told me it was my fault for not properly training my employees how to handle phone calls and that they would be sending our account to collections immediately. This company is definetly just trying to scam people out of money!
