Great Experience Moving with PODS across Canada - PODS DELIVERY AND CUSTOMER SERVICE

My partner and I recently moved from Peterborough, Ontario to Vancouver, B.C. To start PhDs at Simon Fraser University.

We quickly realized that PODS was going to provide us with the easiest, most cost effective and friendliest way to move our stuff from point A to point B.

We are students and didn't have a lot of furniture that we desperately wanted to hang on to (a futon is a futon is a futon, after all) so we sold quite a bit of our hand me down furniture and packed our clothes, instruments, important art and nicknacks, kitchen stuff, a couple of bigger items (like a cedar blanket chest), etc.into the 7X7X8 POD (the small one). We were shocked about how much room there actually was! We could have held on to some more of our junk - but we are happy that we didn't:)

Our experience with PODS was positive in every aspect. Undertaking such a move is a stressful and even somewhat panicky proposition. I had to call the PODS customer support number numerous times and each time the representative was friendly, helpful and seemed genuinely interested in ensuring that my questions were answered and my needs met.

I, unfortunately, was never actually present during the pick up and drop off of the POD but by all accounts the drivers were some of the most cheerful, personable people and the process of dropping off/picking up the POD was a sight to see! (apparently it involves some kind of neat remote control!)

The only challenge we had with our PODS experience was that they do not deliver PODS to Peterborough anymore, so we had to move our stuff first to my parents' house in Thornhill and then into the POD. This was not a problem for us, but I hope that as more people have "the PODS experience" they will be able to expand to cover more territory in Canada.

I would, and have been, recommending moving with PODS to everyone. It was an amazingly positive experience for something which has the potential to be overwhelmingly challenging and negative.

When we looked into renting a moving van to drive ourselves across the country, it was almost the same price as the small POD and that didn't take into account the money we would need to spend on gas, food, hotels, etc. While on the road. There is something to be said for the road trip experience, but when this isn't possible, PODS is great!

We also weren't sure if we were going to be able to find an apartment in Vancouver before we arrived. Knowing that we had the option of keeping our stuff in storage with PODS was a huge comfort.
