I got a phone call from 202 number saing I was approved for a goverment grant. They gave me a confermation number and told me to call Gary Wilson @ 202-580-8411. I called him and he said all I had to pay was $150.00. Go to western union and send the money. Then he gave me a Bank confermation number and told me to call Erik Newman @ 202-683-9890. Erik said all I had to do was pay a bank fee for them to transfer the money into my account. The bank fee was $378.00 (plus the $10.00 fee for wetsern union.) Then the $7,000.00 would be transfered into my account. I asked and he said that I would not have to pay anymore money. I then called Mr. Newman back and he said that the IRS has a hold on my money due to tax perposes, and all I have to do is pay $500.00 to get my money. I was upset, and told him that I wanted all my money back that I paid thus far. He said he could not do that. I kept a copy of all my transactions, adn recoreded the conversations I had with him. I want someone to call them and make sure this is a scam. Mr. Newman knows that I was recording the conversations, and I have him promising I would not have to send anymore money, as well as him stating I would get my grant money. Please inform me what to do next.
