Company deceptively advertises as a "moving service, " but is actually a broker service, with the worst unimaginable "service, " which sub-contracts even worst moving services.
BAIT: was looking for a moving company to transport some boxes of household items, clothes, garden items, and ONLY 3 pieces of furniture. Read AVL website, seemed good, called sales rep., seemed very re-assuring and thorough, offered "low, competitive rate" approx. $1800 for very professional interstate re-location, transported by the company's tractor-trailer. All well and good. WRONG!
SWITCH: After contract was signed and deposit given, price nearly doubled! Another deposit demanded, although reported taking less items than original estimate and no truck weight yet.
Received confirmed moving date. "Moving day" NO show! NO assistance from AVL! (learned later, so far had only paid for broker's fees!)
Days later sub-contracted mover arrives. Great losses and damages, price increased approx. $2,000 more than 2 (above) deposits for the actual transport of items, and highly questionable truck weight. AVL took NO responsibility! Worthless contract!
