Had a phone call out of the blue 30 June 11 to my home number. "Richard" (strong Indian accent) said he knew my computer was running slowly. I asked him how he knew, he said they were a partner of Microsoft and they get reports of computers that are possibly infected. I asked how he knew my number. He said it's through the IP (?) number etc... (??.). He showed me in management part of my computer (why did I let him in to it???) many instances of a red error flag against my recent files access activity. He said he could fix the infection and charged me £84 (taken from account 2 July 11) and then did it (he said) in front of my eyes. After that the computer was no better and I had phone calls practically every day from spurious numbers saying I had more serious infections and they could fix them for $199 - $599 depending on length of contract (6 months - 3 years). Some of the calls were made by "Christine", some by "Richard". When I asked a lot of questions, and for money back, they hung up. Then phoned again following day.initially "Richard" said he was in Florida. Haven't had any calls for a week now. Have they stopped? Last few weeks computer is really slow. I am afraid they have inserted bugs and spyware...
