On a recent trip to Europe to attend a funeral of a relative
I went online and reserved a car from Budget through Orbitz.
I was quoted 204.57 euros, or approx. $308.00. For the
pickup date of 7/6 and dropoff date of 7/10. I
actually dropped the car off on 7/9 which would have
been the start of the 4th day. They billed me $449.00 and
have informed me that being I didn't keep the car 5 days
they had to use a higher rate. It is hard for me to accept
this and I wonder what other car rental companies do in that
case. I would think it would be pro-rated to a lesser rate,
rather than billing me about $141.00 more. Budget is
operated by Avis.
