We advertised a motorbike for sale on Gumtree, Perth, WA. A buyer by the name of Larson Boermans, emailed and wanted the bike, however, monies had to be transferred through Paypal. Not using Paypal before, the person had sent the web address to sign up. I signed up as per request, for deposit of $3800. They had asked in the email if we could pay $700 $60 fee to Tamil Selvam Goval, as this was their agent for couriering the bike. A bit hesitant at first, but then paid the monies via Western Union Bank Transfer at the local post office. Mtcn# 9672823289. Recieved a notification from 'Paypal' stating $3800 would be deposited into our paypal account within 3 hours.in the meantime, Larson Boermans had requested a further $500 to be transferred as the original $700 was not enough to cover costs. I sent emails to Paypal, as we hadnt recieved any notification stating a further amount of $600 was deposited. Upon contacting Paypal via phone this morning, they notified us that it was a scam, and no monies were available. We also contacted Western Union via telephone and reported this, however, there is nothing they can do, as the money had already been recieved by the recipient. Luckily we still have the motorbike.
