Savings Account Deposit of UK Estate Check Never Credited

I opened a savings account with a check I received from my late sister's estate, which was in the U.K. At the time of the transaction I asked if it was a problem, and the answer was no and that it would take approximately 1 month. To date the funds have not been credited to my account, and I have had no answers to the various phone calls I have made. The check was in pounds sterling.
