Miscellaneous

Person posed as a soldier, stationed in Nigeria, asked for $500 for a computer so he could email and chat with me. Proposed love and marriage. Asked for $3000 be sent to his agent who would process his leave from the Army so he could come to the States to visit me and make wedding plans. He sent a plane ticket itinerary by email which was verified to be phony. He never came claiming his Commanding Officer said he could not leave as he was needed to stay and cover the Nigerian election. The Commanding Officer told him since all the paperwork did not go through him for approval he could not okay it. This person later confessed to me he lied to me why he needed this money and said he used it for personal reasons and i would not be getting the money back. He also confessed he was not the person he said he was. He now has stated a new name to me and is asking for more money for an entirely different reason. He states he is really an antique dealer there in Nigeria and that he was kidnapped, got away from his assailants, and is hiding from them and has no income to survive on. So the reason for his requests for money.
