I contacted River City Exteriors in San Antonio Texas on 6-6 to give me a bid on building a sun room. Mr Rich Hall And Jim came by the give me a quote. As a first time homeowner I wasn't sure on giving a down payment until I was sure if I could get financed first. Under the advice of Jim and Rich Hall I was assured that if I was not financed that I would get my deposit money back. I was also told by them that the more money I put down that it would show the bank that I was serious about the deal. Against their advice I decided to only put down 100.00. Given to them in a personal check. I was then told by them that if I wanted to give more it would look better to the bank. I was also informed that if for any reason I would not be able to get financed my 100.00 would be promptly returned. Well I was not financed and I received the letter from the bank on 6-14. That exact same day my check for 100.00 was cashed by River City Exteriors. I have made numerous calls and emails to this company and I have been speaking to Jim only to be told that I should be getting a call from Rich Hall. Not a phone call has been returned. Today I called them again and informed them that I would be contacting a consumer advocate and I was told by Jim before he hung up on me that they don't take too kindly to threats and for me to do whatever I needed to do. This company scammed me and buyer beware of this type of shoddy business. They might think that they scammed me out of my 100.00 but I will make sure that no other consumer gets this type of unprofessional treatment.
