Texaco oil review

Went in for oil change on "Ladies Day." They must call it "Take Advantage of Ladies Day." Told me I had serious problem, needed real differential fluid because it was black with shards of metal in it. They would give me a deal, charge half of usual $85 or so.

I called my regular mechanic, who said he highly doubted that since my mileage was too low. When I told them I was going get a second opinion, they tried to pressure me, saying he'll tell you the same thing, how much will he charge, if he tells you the same thing will you bring it back to us to do the job, etc.

Took it to my mechanic — fluid was like new, clear. He said they hadn't even taken the plug off.

I don't know how they get away with this. Always know they try to upsell or get you to do things you don't need, but this takes the cake.
