I did not actually get scammed but I wanted to inform others on how to avoid a new type of scam that was presented to me today. Someone emailed my phone number via MMS. They offered me $150 extra for shipping, instead of the actual price of only $300. They claimed to be in Idaho and he wanted to send the phone to his "friend" in Africa. He was cooperative and sent me payment through "Paypal" but it was actually through payfund1@aol.com. I received $450 like he said, but it was a fake email. I called Paypal eventhough I already knew it was a scam just to be sure. *NOTE* Paypal will always put "Dear Your Name" at the top of each email. For example, "Dear Jon Doe". They will never say "Dear Customer" or "Dear Sir", ECT. They will always address you by your full name you submitted to them. Please beware of these scams and don't send any item without confirming with Paypal.
