Gene Lane Not to Be Trusted

If you happen to be a provider of services who expects to be paid upon completion of the services you offer, ICC Mechanical Corp., in particular its owner Mr. Gene Lane are not to be trusted and Mr. Lane's "word" means nothing.
About a month and some ago, Mr. Gene Lane and I entered into an oral agreement in which I was going to provide "x" amount of marketing and advertising services for ICC Mechanical for a six month period for a fixed monthly sum.
I spent a considerable amount of professional time creating a very sophisticated advertising campaign for Mr. Lane and ICC Mechanical. He told me I could trust him by his word, that I would get paid, etc.
Long story short, after receiving the advertising, Mr. Lane completely "switched gears", i.E., did a complete "about face" and decided he no longer needed my services and did not need to pay me.
As a result, I wasted about 20 hours of my professional time (I earn $80.00 an hour), and all I got out of it was $0.00 along with plenty of aggravation.
