Took Money Under False Pretenses

Hired to help us with IRS problems. After signing over POA papers, her so called attorneys kept telling us they had been in touch with the IRS agent and everything was going right along. I spoke to Kim (agent) and was informed she had only gotten POA papers signed by another person in the firm and no other communications were forth coming. After several payments to her corporation i find out she has done nothing but keep our money and is accused in California of scaming millions of people such as us.

This with the IRS was not intentional and if my husband hadn't been diagnosed with colorectal cancer we wouldn't be in this mess. I'm sick at heart and now have no more money to continue this with and i don't know what to do next. These people took thousands from us and on her web site it says all her assets and personal accounts are frozen and she has shut down her entire business. Please i know i was foolish and would like to erase all of this but i can't. Please help me and let me know what recourse we have.
