I accidentally checked my bank statement and there was a charge for 39.58, still in the processing mode. I became alarmed and called the 800 number listed on the detail portion of the charge, and it referred me to f*for.net - a porn site located in spain! I called the 800 #, spoke with a rep, who asked for the first 6 and the last 2 digits of the card in question! She did reverse it, saying i would see the credit in approx 7-8 days. I was seething by this time, that someone had put this charge without my authorization. I do not access these sites! Just as i hung up, an email came through that i had just registered to this site, hence the charge. The punchline? I was online in school for court reporting when this happened! What can be done to stop this?
