Certificate of creditable coverage

I bought this insurance in jan. I visited my doctor for your first time with this insurance on feb. 28. Recently i received a bill for my doctors office that i owe $918. After i called them they said i required a certificate of creditable coverage to ensure that them to pay for. No body mentioned that i desired this certificate after i got the insurance. I'm the corporation is just a scam and that i am very worried they'll not purchase my doctor visit.
