Total Scam! Don't participate in this program!

We purchased an item online and were sent this offer from Star Rebates as an incentive to buy (that we would recoup most of our purchase price in Visa gift cards.) While the product we purchased is excellent, the Star Rebates program is completely bogus and a total ripoff. They ask for $15.95 upfront to register, and tell you that you will receive this back at the end of the program. There is no way to directly contact anyone at this place and they send automated response emails (which you have to fill out on their website) so there is no way to determine who they really are. They have no phone number and my last email to them was to threaten involving my Attorney General's office. I of course have received no response at all to that one, so someone is reading the emails. I am wondering if the company that offered us the rebate is also involved in the scam and getting a kickback (no doubt) from enticing people into the program. Bottom line: this is a bogus program, and a waste of time and money. Don't involve yourself!
