On 6/29/10, I was contacted at my office (Allegheny Consultant Services, Inc.) by Eddie Pettit, who asked me to perform a deed search and retrieve records from the Mercer County, WV courthouse. Over the next 3 days, I pulled records, obtained certified copies for which I advanced $32.50 out of my own pocket and sent them to the Pettit Company. I billed them on 7/7. Repeated calls, messages and letters to them asking that they pay have been completely ignored. My business, just like so many others, has just come through some very tight times, what with the economic problems our country has faced. This wasn't a big bill, only $145.75, but unpaid bills tend to add up quickly. I want to thank Edison Pettit for screwing the small businessman out of this princely sum. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone and warn small businesses such as mine to avoid them like the plague!
