Ripoff

This company is a huge rip-off. I called numerous times when I received my Speigal account and saw 1400.00 limit, credit avail none, and had a bal due of 600.00 $'s. After getting now where fast, I gave up. I didn't receive a statement, just phone calls wanting my checking account information. I used my better judgement and would not make any payments over the phone. The calls stopped. I even called Speigal Cus Svc, got a hold of an individual and he all but said the c/c had gone bankrupt and that Speigal was not getting the money owed to them, he even told me good luck trying to resolve this.

I left it alone, until today, 1/28/04- I rcvd a letter from Simm Associates, a collection agency. I called and spoke to a "girl" named Jamie, she gave me some lame excuse that they were just collecting for the card processing center, she knew I had not gotten a bill since July. She said the center had caught on fire and they had to prove all the charges to a judge and that all was legit. She said the co wasn't to have charged any fees-I tried to tell her that was not the case with me. I gave up on the conversation. I am keeping all documentation and will argue with the credit bureaus if needed. Something has to give on this! 1
