You receive a letter with a check made out to you informing you that you've won $125,000. After you call the number to arrange for the delivery of your prize, they tell you to cash the check first and then call back. The number I called was located in Ontario, Canada. When the bank verifies the routing number, they find it is a flagged account, or of some unsuspecting person or business whose identity has been stolen.
