Scammed!

I was told that the banks had alot of work to be done on forclosed homes. I was told all I need to do is pay $99.00 for my background check (FDIC required) and they would start sending me work in my area within 3-5 days provided I passed. Well I passed and I have yet to receive any work/leads. I try and contact them through email and by phone and get disconnected or a voicemail. I feel that in this troubled economy the last person that should be a target is the working class man, because he is deperate and trying to provide for his family and the last thing he needs is to be a target of a scam. Target somebody who can afford to loose 99$!
